Diaphragm walls

Diaphragm walls are reinforced concrete walls cast in a slurry-supported trench — used to retain deep excavations and as permanent foundation walls, on basements and underground rail stations. The cage is the critical part: large, heavy, lifted into the trench in one piece, and impossible to adjust once it is in the slurry.
